During this conference we will explore the ancient secrets that inspire the unique perspectives of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through thousands of years of careful and astute observation, the sages of old discovered that the same forces that direct the movements of nature, such as the waxing and waning of the seasons and the transitions of weather, dance throughout the body cultivating an expression of life and health. When these movements within the body are disrupted, the person moves away from health and towards imbalance.
Together we will delve into the theory of Yin Yang, a primordial perspective regarding the opposing forces of the universe, how they interact, and how this impacts health. We will discuss the interaction between lifestyle choices and the inherent constitution, even touching upon the fascinating science of epigenetics. We will show you how to begin to observe these natural phenomenon in the world around you, how to notice this within your own body, and how to interact with the natural ebbing and flowing between yourself and the outside world.
Catherine and Christine Woodlock are sisters not only by blood, but through their rigorous schooling in Traditional Chinese Medicine. With backgrounds in Shamanism and Yoga, their passion for health and wellness led them individually towards the pursuit of Classical Oriental Medicine. Their paths entwined in Nelson, BC at the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences, where together they successfully completed the Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine program. During their training they discovered ways to interact with their bodies and minds in a manner that is harmonious with the natural tendencies of the universe, cultivating a fluid and daily relationship with their health. They are passionate about sharing this ancient knowledge, so that people can understand how each choice they make impacts the overall direction of their well-being.
